Stocking your RV is easy, with several grocery stores located just minutes away. Many of our guests make Rouses Market in Diamondhead their first stop after arriving. The store features a full-service butcher, fresh seafood, bakery, deli, produce, wine, and everything you’ll need for an extended stay.
If you’re looking for great prices, Froogel’s Cost Plus on Highway 90 in Bay St. Louis is a local favorite. Visitors are often surprised by its value, making it an excellent place to stock up on groceries without stretching your travel budget. Plus they always have great music!
Another convenient option is Claiborne Hill Supermarket in nearby Waveland, a locally owned grocery store known for its fresh meat, seafood, deli, and friendly hometown service.
Propane, RV Supplies & Hardware
Need to refill your propane tank? Tractor Supply Co. on Highway 90 is one of the most convenient places for propane refills and also carries hardware, pet supplies, tools, trailer accessories, and many of the items RV travelers occasionally need. For larger propane needs, Blossman Propane in nearby Waveland also serves the area.
Fishing Licenses & Supplies
Mississippi requires anyone age 16 or older to have a fishing license before fishing in public waters unless an exemption applies. Licenses are available online through the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries & Parks, or at many sporting goods retailers throughout the area. Keep in mind that Legends is on a freshwater bayou, but if you plan to take your fishing trip out to the Gulf, it’s saltwater, so you’ll need the appropriate license for that. Don’t forget to learn the unique size and limits on our local catches.
Dining Like a Local
One of the joys of visiting Bay St. Louis is discovering its outstanding locally owned restaurants. If you’re looking for breakfast or brunch, don’t miss Mockingbird Café. Housed in a beautifully restored historic cottage, it’s one of the town’s most beloved gathering places for coffee, fresh pastries, and creative breakfast dishes.
For lunch or dinner, The Blind Tiger remains one of the Coast’s most popular waterfront restaurants, offering casual seafood and spectacular harbor views. For a special evening, consider The Sycamore House for an intimate fine-dining experience, or 200 North Beach Restaurant & Bar overlooking beach blvd.
One of the best parts of Bay St. Louis is that almost every restaurant is independently owned, giving the town its unique charm and character.
Getting Around by Golf Cart
One thing visitors quickly notice is how many people travel around Bay St. Louis by golf cart.
The city allows golf carts and low-speed vehicles on many public streets, but they must be properly registered and insured before being operated legally. Annual registration decals are issued through the Bay St. Louis Police Department, and operators must meet the city’s equipment and licensing requirements. If you’re bringing a golf cart with your RV, be sure to review the city’s current regulations before hitting the road.
Shopping & Exploring Old Town
Historic Old Town Bay St. Louis is only a short drive from LEGENDS and is best explored on foot. Spend an afternoon browsing locally owned boutiques, art galleries, antique shops, bookstores, and gift stores before stopping for lunch or coffee. Don’t forget to stroll the harbor, walk along Beach Boulevard, and watch the boats come and go.
